Local Copyright Policy

Georgia State University has several sites dedicated to copyright policies. The first site focuses on use of materials found in the libraries, to see it click here.  The second site provides a comprehensive  overview  of copyright across several different categories and can be found here.

Although there is no clear distinction between copyrighted material by students and teachers, there is information about how to copyright one's own material. The second site also provides information about one's rights as an author.

When creating student work on the web, it is important to consider the material I use. For example, the photo on this page was provided by weebly.com, part of my use of the service with Weebly allows me to use the photograph. However, if I find photographs or other media that I would like to use on my site for student work, I need to assess the fair use policy to see if it is applicable.
