Artifacts

FRIT 7234- Mini Lessons:

Elements: 4.1, 4.2, 4.3
Reflection:
A favorite of mine, the mini lessons, demonstrates my knowledge, skills, and dispositions in promoting digital citizenship and responsibility (elements 4.1, 4.2, and 4.3). This was the third mini lesson created for FRIT 7234 and in addition to meeting the content standards for seventh grade, digital citizenship was woven into the lesson. The lesson gave students the opportunity to acquire and apply different aspects of digital citizenship, such as legal and ethical use of information, access to digital tools and resources, and the tools support diverse student needs and increase global awareness. Additionally, assessment was woven throughout the design of the lesson in a way that allowed for a range of feedback methods, which also addressed supporting diverse student needs.

FRIT 7739- Collaborative Lesson on Digital Citizenship:

Elements: 4.2 & 4.3
Reflection:
While I enjoyed collaborating and learning the policies associated with working with college students, this assignment is the one I was most apprehensive about. The tasks necessary to complete it gave me more confidence in myself as a professional, and for that I am grateful.  The instructor and I were able to demonstrate the safe, healthy, legal, and ethical use of digital information and technology by navigating Ferpa when it came to assessing the student learning outcomes(4.2). It is also demonstrated in the lesson. The lesson focuses on digital citizenship with an emphasis on social networking and a minor look at media literacy. Each of those components of digital literacy go to fulfill element 4.3.
